John Canela

John Canela is a seasoned professional in the fields of IT and cybersecurity, with extensive experience as a consultant and coach. John began as a Systems Analyst Intern at Bed Bath & Beyond, collaborating with Cisco and Motorola on wireless VOIP implementation. John's career progressed to roles at Cisco, where John served as an IT Engineer and later transitioned to a Security Analyst and Incident Response Consultant at FireEye and Mandiant, engaging in advanced security operations and threat analysis. Currently, John holds the title of Senior Consultant at Google, advising Managed Defense customers and leading efforts in security program delivery. Additionally, John actively contributes to the New Jersey Institute of Technology as a Board Member of the Hispanic & Latinx Leadership Council and as an Angel Investor focused on supporting Hispanic and Latinx ventures.
