John McCutchan is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in game development and systems programming. At Sony Computer Entertainment America, John ported and optimized the Bullet Physics Engine for the PS3 and led a team on performance analysis tools for PS3 and PSVita games. Following a brief tenure at Novell where John designed and implemented inotify, John has been with Google since July 2012 as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, contributing to significant projects such as the Plaque Project, focusing on distributed low latency programming, and the Dart Virtual Machine Project, where John led key initiatives including the Flutter Hot Reload project and performance analysis tools. John also has academic experience as a Teaching Assistant at McMaster University, where John developed course material in areas such as Computer Architecture and Object-Oriented Programming. John holds both an MSc and an HBSc in Computer Science from McMaster University.
