Jonathan Hui serves as Vice President of Technology at the Thread Group, where leadership includes roles as Technical Committee Chair and a focus on developing low-power wireless networking protocols for the Internet of Things. Prior to this, Jonathan held positions at Cisco as Principal Engineer in the Internet of Things Group, leading the creation of a multi-service mesh network platform and earning 183 patents. At Arch Rock Corporation, Jonathan was a founding member and Lead Engineer, notably pioneering the use of IPv6 in low-power mesh networks. Jonathan also serves as a Board Director for the Connectivity Standards Alliance, representing Google. Academic achievements include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and research experience at Carnegie Mellon University. Current responsibilities at Google involve maintaining OpenThread, an open source implementation of the Thread protocol.
