Joshua Tan has a diverse background in software engineering and research, with significant experience in both corporate and academic settings. At A*STAR, Joshua held roles as a Senior Officer in Corporate Communications/Media Relations and as a Research Engineer, where contributions included designing a distributed robot middleware. As a Research Assistant at Parallel Data Lab, Joshua implemented the Snappy compression algorithm for a distributed machine learning system. Currently, as a Senior Software Engineer at Google, Joshua serves as the Tech Lead for a team developing a new payment method for GPay, focusing on high transaction efficiency.
