Jukka Heinonen has over two decades of experience in software engineering, with a significant focus on systems and reliability engineering. Jukka's career began at the Helsinki Institute of Physics, developing analysis software and writing a master's thesis, followed by a summer position at Vaisala Oyj, where Jukka developed a sky condition algorithm for ceilometers. Jukka then continued at Vaisala as a software engineer, enhancing both the sky condition algorithm and the MidasIV airport weather observation system. Jukka transitioned to Varian Medical Systems as a systems engineer, mainly developing the Eclipse application for radiotherapy treatment planning. Since 2019, Jukka has been employed at Google, progressing through roles from site reliability engineer to staff site reliability engineer.
