Kenny Lee

Quantum Research Scientist

Kenny Lee is a Quantum Research Scientist at Google, leading a technical team focused on the performance and mitigation of single and two qubit quantum logic gates. With extensive experience in quantum information science, Kenny previously served as a Senior Research Scientist at Quantinuum, where contributions included the development of critical device primitives for ion trap quantum computers and achieving a quantum volume of 512. Training as a Graduate Researcher at UC Santa Barbara involved the conception of hybrid quantum devices, and previous roles as a Research Assistant and Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Maryland included collaborative projects on quantum devices and thesis work involving trapped ion qubits. Kenny holds a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from UCSB and a B.S. in Physics with a Mathematics minor from the University of Maryland.
