Kurt Thomas

Kurt Thomas is a Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google, specializing in computer security, anti-spam technologies, and privacy. Previously, they held roles at UC Berkeley and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing on social networks and underground economies. Kurt's experience includes internships at Sandia National Laboratories and the International Computer Science Institute, as well as a position at Twitter, where they developed classifiers for detecting abusive behaviors. They earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, following a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
