Lei Zhao

Lei Zhao is an accomplished Software Engineering Manager with extensive experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects. Currently, Lei serves as the Software Engineering Manager for Ads Machine Learning Site Reliability Engineering at Google, overseeing a global team responsible for one of the largest machine learning infrastructures for Google Ads since January 2021. Prior to this role, Lei spent six years at PNC, where responsibilities included leading over 30 engineers across five scrum teams and successfully delivering numerous high-profile projects. Early in the career, Lei held the position of Technical Lead, driving innovation projects from ideation to production at PNC. Lei began as a junior developer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana in 2007, advancing to Application Architect through a series of promotions due to exceptional performance. Lei holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Jilin University.
