Leonidas Galanis is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in database systems. They served as an Engineering Manager at Meta from 2014 to 2019, where they led teams responsible for developing the MyRocks server. Following this, they joined Snowflake as Director of Engineering from 2019 to 2024, creating the Unistore team and overseeing significant migrations in data architecture. Currently, Leonidas holds the position of Director of Engineering at Google, building upon their previous expertise developed at Oracle, where they invented Database Replay. Leonidas earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on Database Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
