Lisa Roman has a diverse background in political and public policy roles, with extensive experience in both government and private sectors. At Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, Lisa served as Director of the Refugee Assistance Program. Lisa held key positions at the U.S. Department of State from July 2012 to March 2014, including Political Officer for the Syria Desk and Chief of Staff for the US Special Envoy for Syria. Lisa's tenure at the National Security Council included roles as Director for Syria and Senior Policy Advisor for Global Issues from July 2015 to January 2017. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Advisor to the Spokesman for US Forces in Iraq at the United States Department of Defense and consulting for Detica.
