Mary Opalka, PE, LEED AP is a Data Center Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in the built environment, encompassing design, commissioning, and standards writing. They have worked with various organizations, including Google, where they currently hold the position of Staff Data Center Engineer. Their previous roles include certification engineer at The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute and commissioning engineer at Baumann Consulting. Mary earned a Master's degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, and Spanish from Wilkes University. Passionate about sustainability and acoustics, they have contributed to numerous projects aimed at optimizing building performance.
