Matineh Shaker

Matineh Shaker is a highly experienced professional in the field of machine learning, currently serving as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Google since June 2025. Prior to this role, Matineh held the position of Sr. Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Palo Alto Networks, where responsibilities included production systems for RAG/LLM, retrieval and custom ranking models, and automated LLM evaluations. Previous experience includes work as a Machine Learning Engineer at Twitter, focusing on semantic retrieval and ranking for the Home feed, and as a Senior Applied Scientist at Microsoft, contributing to Azure's Autonomous Systems stack with expertise in deep reinforcement learning. Additionally, Matineh worked at Geometric Intelligence as a Machine Learning Engineer before its acquisition by Uber. Matineh holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University and was also a predoctoral fellow at Harvard University.
