Matthew Watson is a Senior Software Engineer at Google, where since March 2018, work has focused on the main reinforcement learning library for Gemini training, specifically improving sampling performance during RL training and evaluation using JAX on TPUs. Prior to this role, Matthew was a Software Engineer at Endless from November 2012 to March 2017, contributing to the development of EndlessOS, a Linux-based operating system, and building various applications, an SDK for application development, desktop UI, OS-wide search, and offline content databases. Matthew holds a Master of Science in Computer Science obtained from Stanford University in 2012, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University, completed in 2011.
