Max Lerch is a seasoned software engineering professional with a solid background in leading engineering teams and driving innovative projects. Currently serving as a Software Engineering Manager at Google since August 2025, Max previously held the position of Senior Engineering Manager at Dremio, where leadership was provided for the development of SQL query acceleration technology. Prior experience includes roles at Microsoft, where contributions ranged from enabling data lake virtualization over Azure and S3 to implementing features in SQL Server 2019. Beginning as a Software Engineer at Metanautix, Max gained valuable experience in distributed SQL query engines before the acquisition by Microsoft.
