Michiel Bacchiani is a Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google, specializing in speech recognition with nearly 20 years of experience in research and development. They joined Google in 2005 as one of the first members of the Speech group and have since designed and implemented key components for various Google speech applications. Prior to Google, Michiel worked at IBM, where they developed a competitive speech recognition system, and at AT&T, where they created large vocabulary continuous speech recognition systems. Michiel earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and a master's degree from Eindhoven University of Technology.
