Mihaela Ion

Mihaela Ion has extensive experience in the field of computer and information systems security, beginning as a researcher at OPAALS Network of Excellence from 2007 to 2009. Following this role, Mihaela served as a PhD Candidate at the University of Trento, focusing on the security of publish/subscribe systems and encrypted search, completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 2013. Mihaela has held the position of Software Engineer at Google since August 2013, and had prior experience as an intern in Google's Privacy Working Group in June 2012. Additional research internships were completed at Intel Corporation and Microsoft in 2012 and 2011, respectively. Mihaela's academic background includes a BSc and MSc in Information Technology and Computer Science from the International University in Germany, and a Baccalaureate in Mathematics and Physics from Colegiul National "Mihai Viteazul".
