Monica Hansen has extensive experience in the fields of semiconductor technology, solid-state lighting, and quantum computing. Beginning as a Summer Engineering Intern at Motorola, Monica developed innovative fracture mechanics test setups. As a Graduate Research Assistant at UC Santa Barbara, Monica advanced MOCVD growth processes for InGaN-based laser diodes. Current roles include Principal at LED Lighting Advisors, providing technical guidance in optoelectronics, and Founding Advisor at Power Bloom Solar, Inc. Monica has also served as a Technical Advisor for the U.S. Department of Energy, where influential solid-state lighting technology roadmaps were authored. Previous positions include Director of Lighting Innovation at Rohinni, Research Scientist and Contracts Manager at Cree, and Technical Program Manager at Google, overseeing operational strategies for Quantum AI projects. Monica holds a degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
