Nan

Nan Ma is an experienced optical engineer and researcher with a strong background in augmented reality and optical design. From March 2012 to April 2016, Nan Ma served as a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey, leading projects on multidisciplinary approaches to bacterial persistence. Following this role, Nan Ma worked at DAQRI as an Optical Engineer, focusing on designing and debugging augmented reality optical products. Further experience includes positions as Lead Optical Design Engineer at Pyser Optics, Senior Optical Engineer at WaveOptics (Snap Inc), and currently as an Optical Developer in Augmented Reality at Google. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of St. Andrews, a Master's Degree in Laser Photonics & Modern Optics and a Master of Philosophy in Instrumentation, Data Analysis and Cell Biology from The University of Manchester, as well as a BSc in Applied Physics from Beijing University of Technology.
