Philipp Bunge is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in large-scale data analysis and system administration. Bunge began a career as a Linux System Administrator at the University of Bern from 2005 to 2008, followed by roles as a Software Engineer at Sw-eng Software Engineering GmbH and the Informatik Service Center ISC-EJPD from 2009 to January 2011. From April 2017 to May 2023, Bunge worked at Google, progressing through various positions including Software Engineer II and III, and ultimately serving as a Staff Software Engineer, where significant contributions were made to the development of exploratory data analysis capabilities and the launch of Google Maps in 2014.
