Ravi Murthy

Ravi Murthy is an accomplished engineering leader with over two decades of experience in the technology sector. Currently serving as Senior Director of Engineering for Google Cloud Databases since April 2019, Ravi previously held the position of VP Engineering at Yugabyte and spent seven years at Facebook. At Facebook, Ravi was the Head of Applications Software and Services at Portal (Building 8), focusing on innovations in hardware, software, and AI/ML, as well as directing the engineering efforts for analytics and data infrastructure, leading to the development of one of the largest Big Data platforms globally. Earlier in the career, Ravi was a Senior Director of Software Development at Oracle, where responsibilities included leading the Special Projects group and developing significant components of Oracle's RDBMS systems. Ravi holds an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
