Rui Lopes is an accomplished software engineer and researcher with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Rui began a career at LASIGE, serving as a Junior Research Scientist and later as a Research Scientist from January 2003 to September 2009. Following this, Rui held various software engineering roles at Google from May 2019 to the present, progressing from Software Engineer to Senior Staff Software Engineer. Additionally, Rui contributed to academia as an Invited Professor and Assistant Teacher at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa from September 2010 to September 2011, and co-founded boomUX during that same period. Rui holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.
