Sagang Wee

Sagang Wee is a highly experienced software engineer currently working at Google since July 2018, contributing to the Edu Ecosystem team on education enterprise integrations and previously as a backend engineer on the Messages Onboarding team. With a strong focus on open-source contributions, Sagang led the Contributor Experience development team at Oppia Foundation from August 2019 to October 2023. Sagang's experience also includes a software engineering internship at TigerConnect, where UI features for a messenger web app were developed, as well as significant optimizations that enhanced performance. Previous roles include working as an undergraduate research assistant at the UC Berkeley Renewable & Appropriate Energy Laboratory and as a web developer for SafeSpace, creating an anonymous chat platform for mental health. Sagang began a career in educational technology as an intern at Newport Mesa Unified School District. Sagang holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
