Sam Liu

Sam Liu is an experienced user experience designer with a career spanning from 2003 to the present. Initial experience includes a role as a Senior User Experience Designer at Storvok Software Technology from 2003 to 2005. Liu then joined Google in 2008, serving as a User Interface Designer, where contributions included leading the design of Hangouts across multiple platforms and overseeing the redesigns. Subsequently, Liu progressed to Head of UX, managing designs for Google Allo, Google Duo, and Google Assistant, and is currently the Director of UX, leading a team of over 50 professionals responsible for the product design of Google Meet, Duo, Dialer, Jamboard, Business Communications, and Google's enterprise hardware. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Sociology with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction and Technology from UCLA and a Bachelor's degree in Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology.
