Sam Smits is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in software engineering, cloud solutions, and biotechnology. As Science and Technology Lead at January, Inc., Sam initiated a software team that developed a cloud-native platform and mobile applications, and designed a distributed infrastructure for health sensor data. At Talis Biomedical Corporation, Sam held roles as Director of Software Engineering and Software Development Manager, leading the development of a distributed cloud platform and overseeing project visibility and team growth. Sam co-founded a biotechnology startup focused on microbiome engineering and has held positions as a Principal/Lead Engineer at various companies, including Google and others, where technical solutions were architectured for diverse sectors.
