Sam Yu has a diverse background in software analysis and modeling, beginning with a Software Analyst Intern position at Thales where regression testing and documentation tasks were performed. Subsequent roles included a Software Analyst Co-op at Thales focusing on software integration testing, and a Numerical Environmental Modeller at Environment and Climate Change Canada specializing in storm surge and tides modeling. Sam gained research experience as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of Waterloo, optimizing deep learning models for Arctic ice forecasting and studying retinal disorders. Currently, as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of Alberta, Sam is involved in large-scale simulations of low dimensional superfluids. Additional experience includes grading for Art of Problem Solving and a current position as a Software Engineer at Google, focusing on ads experiments infrastructure.
