Sarmad Gilani has over two decades of experience in software development and engineering. Beginning as a Systems Technical Analyst Intern at State Farm Insurance Companies from June 2000 to October 2005, Sarmad conducted research in RFID and Ethernet-over-Power technology, developed a custom device driver, and created a web-based inventory system. From February 2011 to September 2012, Sarmad worked as a Software Developer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing on web applications in Python and collaborating with stakeholders on user documentation. Since October 2012, Sarmad has been with Google, initially as a Software Engineer, enhancing the Google Cloud Platform, and currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer, advocating for data-driven feature development in the Google Cloud Console and driving growth initiatives in the Google Maps Platform.
