Seb Zhu

Seb Zhu is a Machine Learning Engineer with diverse experience in AI governance, software development, and research. Prior to joining Google as a Software Engineer II focusing on Core Protected Data, Seb completed internships at BreezeML, where involvement included large language models and cloud computing infrastructure, and Amazon Web Services, working on Sagemaker AI platforms. Additionally, experience includes a research internship at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under the guidance of Professor Yongjoo Park on cloud-native search engines, and participation in IoT projects advised by Professor Matthew Caesar. Seb also contributed to the backend development of a large language model chatbot product and an ML dataset management system at Hive. Seb is pursuing education at the University of California, Los Angeles, from 2022 to 2024.
