Sebastian Winberg

Research Engineer

Sebastian Winberg is a research engineer at Google, focusing on Digital Humans and Visual Computing since October 2022. Previously, Sebastian completed a research internship at Disney Research from October 2020 to January 2021, where novel optimization techniques leveraging StyleGAN2 were developed for high-quality face render completion. As a master thesis student in the digital humans group at Disney, Sebastian created the first facial capturing pipeline that reconstructs and tracks facial hair fibers and skin, presented at SIGGRAPH 2022. Earlier experience includes a research assistant position at ETH Zürich, where Sebastian contributed to the development of the SkaterBot framework in the Computational Robotics Lab and served as a teaching assistant in a systems programming course. Sebastian earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Computer Science from ETH Zürich.
