Seth Strimas-MacKey

Seth Strimas-Mackey is a Data Scientist specializing in research at Google since August 2022, following a robust academic background and extensive experience in data science. Prior to Google, Seth served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Cornell University from August 2015 to August 2022, instructing courses in probability models, statistics, and physics. A notable internship at Microsoft in summer 2021 involved calibrating Transformer models to enhance Python code generation, resulting in significant improvements in performance metrics. Seth's research experience includes a strong foundation in quantum mechanics at the University of Toronto, where a thesis focused on topological insulators and Monte Carlo simulations related to quark deconfinement were conducted, alongside an undergraduate research assistantship at the Institute for Quantum Computing. Seth holds a Ph.D. in Statistics and Data Science from Cornell University and a BASc in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
