Sheng L.

Sheng L. is a Senior Staff ML Engineer and Manager at Google since June 2017, where leadership involves HW/SW co-design and optimization for TPUs, as well as optimizing business-critical production ML models in various fields such as Ads, LLM, and Computer Vision. Sheng has successfully built a team of over 30 engineers from scratch. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Scientist and Tech Lead on Enterprise Big Data at Intel Labs from April 2014 to June 2017, focusing on high-performance cloud computing and deep learning applications for autonomous driving. Earlier, from March 2009 to April 2014, Sheng worked at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories as a Research Scientist, focusing on efficient datacenter servers and memory systems, as well as a Research Intern specializing in data-centric computing and manycore systems. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's degree from Tsinghua University.
