Shidong Zhang has extensive experience in network systems and infrastructure, beginning as a System Engineer at Ericsson from May 2000 to August 2005, where responsibilities included designing and implementing IP backbone networks for telecom carriers. Zhang then worked as a Research Associate at HP Labs / GMU ECE from August 2005 to November 2007, focusing on high-performance TCP/IP network systems. Following this, an engineering role at Cisco Systems lasted from November 2007 to December 2010, involving the Catalyst 6500 system, and a brief period as an Engineer at Juniper Networks from December 2010 to May 2011, specializing in Data Center Switch / QFabric. Currently, since May 2011, Zhang serves as a Senior Staff/TLM at Google, contributing to network infrastructure development and testing, including backbone and cluster routing as well as software-defined networking (SDN).
