Shrihari Bhat

Shrihari Bhat has extensive experience in machine learning and software engineering, with a notable tenure at Google from July 2021 to September 2023 as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on brand and advertiser growth on YouTube through multimodal Gemini models and large language models. Prior to that, as a Senior Software Engineer, Shrihari launched AI overviews on Google Search, which became the largest generative AI product with billions of daily active users, and made critical updates to web results ranking. Earlier experience includes roles at Oracle as a Member of Technical Staff, specializing in adaptive redaction for unstructured data and managing the virtualization stack on Oracle Database Appliance. Shrihari's foundational expertise in computer science and engineering was developed through education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where both a Bachelor's and Master's degree were earned.
