Simon Zhao is an accomplished engineering manager with extensive experience in developing advanced technologies and leading engineering teams. Currently at Google since August 2015, Simon has contributed to the creation of an end-to-end LLM modeling training and evaluation ecosystem, as well as in-house algorithms for prompt tuning in AI applications. Prior to Google, Simon served as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Upwork, where leadership skills were demonstrated in building a federated search engine, and at Elance, where Simon led efforts on a multi-way matching engine and scalable notification system. Simon holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the South China University of Technology.
