Smith Lai

Smith Lai possesses extensive experience in the field of Design-For-Test (DFT) across multiple prominent companies. Smith served as Technical Manager at MediaTek from November 2017 to May 2022, focusing on MemoryBIST RTL flow and DFT solutions. Currently, Smith is a CPU DFT Engineer at Google, enhancing DFT solutions within CPU implementation. Prior experience includes roles at Huawei as a DFT engineer, where early project involvement led to responsibilities in planning and management, and as a Senior Application Engineer at Mentor Graphics, assisting top IC design houses with DFT tools. Smith began a career as a back-end engineer at EE-solutions, where duties included APR and DFT tasks. Academically, Smith earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Yuan-Ze University.
