Soheila Ghane

Soheila Ghane is an accomplished AI/ML Partner Engineer at Google since November 2025, previously serving as the Lead of EEG Foundation Model at EMOTIV from December 2023 to November 2025, where Soheila developed the first academically validated EEG foundation model and led a global team to innovate Thought-to-Text data collection methods. Prior to this, Soheila was a Data Science Lead and Principal Data Scientist at BHP from December 2019 to February 2023, overseeing a team of over 60 members and delivering impactful data science solutions while fostering collaboration and best practices. Soheila also has experience as a Senior Data Scientist at BHP, developing machine learning solutions for critical business challenges, and as a Data Science Researcher at the University of Melbourne, focusing on privacy-aware algorithms. Soheila began a career in academia as a Lecturer at Meybod University. Soheila holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne, a Master’s in Information Technology from Iran University of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor’s in Information Technology from Shiraz University of Technology.
