Steven Soltis is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering and software development. At the University of Minnesota from 1993 to 1997, Steven served as a Fellow, Research Assistant, and Teaching Assistant, where significant contributions included the conception and implementation of the Global File System, the first SAN-based distributed file system. As President and Founder of DataPlow since December 1997, Steven has led the development of leading-edge SAN-based clustered file system software. Currently, Steven holds the position of Senior Staff Software Engineer at Google, starting in November 2021. Earlier experience includes a role as Serviceability Test Coordinator at IBM in 1991. Steven holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and two additional degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, demonstrating a solid academic foundation complemented by academic honors, including Summa Cum Laude.
