Tapio Schneider

Tapio Schneider is a prominent figure in the field of environmental science and engineering, currently serving as Principal Investigator at the Climate Modeling Alliance since September 2018, and holding the position of Theodore Y. Wu Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering at Caltech since June 2002. Schneider's extensive career includes roles such as Principal Scientist and Visiting Researcher at Google, and Senior Research Scientist at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory until April 2024. Additionally, Schneider contributes to the scientific community as a Scientific Advisory Board Member for Virtual Earth System Research Institute under Schmidt Sciences. With a PhD in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from Princeton University, Schneider has held various academic positions throughout a career that began in 2000 at New York University.
