Tessa Eng

Tessa Eng is an accomplished Director of Engineering at Google since June 2010, leading teams focused on enhancing user-first shopping experiences across Google.com and overseeing commercial queries resulting in over 1 billion shopping journeys daily. With a background as a Senior Staff Software Engineer and Manager, Tessa has managed teams of over 50 engineers, driving innovation in the shopping domain, and previously led the development of personalized apparel shopping features. Tessa's early career includes roles as a Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, an Engineering Intern at Qualcomm, and a Financial Developer Intern at Bloomberg. Tessa holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. Additionally, Tessa served as Board Secretary for the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the Internet Society from February 2021 to February 2023.
