Tom Garvens

Tom Garvens is an established technology leader with extensive experience in hardware engineering and innovation. Currently serving as an Advisory Board Member at the UW-Madison Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Tom has held significant positions at Google, including Vice President of Advanced Technology Innovation for Google Data Centers and Vice President of Hardware Platform Engineering for Google Cloud. Prior to his tenure at Google, Tom worked at Dell Technologies for nearly a decade as Vice President of Server Infrastructure and Server Development, overseeing strategic technology evaluation and server architecture. Tom also served as Vice President of Hardware Solutions at Supermicro from March to October 2024. Tom holds a BSEE from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MSEE from the University of Illinois Chicago.
