Tony Yu

Director, Silicon Architecture

Tony Yu has extensive experience in silicon architecture and performance optimization, having worked at leading technology companies. At Broadcom from 2005 to 2009, Tony served as a Sr. Principal Scientist, focusing on research and development to drive innovation. At Microsoft from 2009 to 2015, Tony held the position of Principal SoC Performance Architect, where responsibilities included defining performance methodologies for Xbox and Surface platforms and collaborating with silicon vendors. During tenure at Google from 2015 to 2017, Tony was a Principal Silicon Architect, architecting components of mobile SoCs and aligning silicon features with AI/ML workloads. Tony subsequently took on roles as Director of Silicon Architecture and Senior Manager of Silicon Architecture, leading teams to develop next-generation Google Tensor SoCs and achieving significant performance improvements. Tony holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
