Toru Kawamura

Toru Kawamura has extensive experience in business development and strategic partnerships, primarily at Google since May 2007, where the current role is Head of Android Business Development and Partner Programs. This position involves managing global manufacturing partners and overseeing partner programs within the Android ecosystem. Previous roles at Google include Global Business Development Manager for Android and Chrome OS Partnerships, Head of New Business Development for Japan, and Senior Strategic Partner Development Manager, all of which required extensive negotiation and management skills with key industry partners. Prior to Google, Toru served as Lead Product Manager at Saslite Corp., focusing on enterprise VPN security solutions, and as a Software Engineer and Project Lead at Hewlett-Packard, where responsibilities included system architecture and telecom provisioning systems. Toru holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Doshisha University.
