Ty Werbicki

Ty Werbicki is a TPU Software Engineer at Google, passionate about accelerated, concurrent, and parallel algorithms and computing. They hold combined Bachelor's degrees in Biomedical Science (Honors) and Statistics from the University of Calgary, which they completed in 2021. Ty previously worked as a GPU Software Engineer for Qualcomm, where they enabled DirectX 12 user-mode production driver support, and interned at Advanced Micro Devices, optimizing GPU-accelerated matrix multiplication libraries. In the fall of 2021, they began a Master of Quantitative Finance program at the University of Waterloo but withdrew after a month due to a lack of alignment with their interests. Outside of work, Ty enjoys following financial markets, programming in languages like Rust, and engaging in various outdoor activities.
