Val Castro, MFA, is a seasoned executive producer, director, and writer with extensive experience in multimedia production and event management. With a career spanning over two decades, Val has held key positions at notable companies such as Hellfire Cinema, Troma Entertainment, and Advanced Systems Group, LLC. Expertise includes overseeing live event broadcasts, directing large-scale video projects, and managing production teams for high-profile clients such as Google and Dropbox. Val's accomplishments in advertising and publicity encompass successful marketing for theatrical releases, development of promotional materials, and the execution of significant audio-visual infrastructure projects. As the founder of Dateland Productions, LLC, Val focuses on producing narratives centered on queer and BIPOC stories, while also contributing to various high-profile projects such as Global Pride 2020. Val holds a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University and a Master of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute.
