Vignesh Kannan

Vignesh Kannan is a seasoned software engineer and tech lead with experience at Google since February 2020, contributing to YouTube Shorts Discovery, Search Discovery Ranking, and Nest Perception. Vignesh previously held positions as a DAAD WISE Scholar at Leuphana University of Lüneburg, where a probabilistic framework for optimizing feature extraction was developed, achieving a significant cost reduction while maintaining accuracy. Vignesh also interned at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, enhancing the FOSSEE Optimization Toolbox by creating non-linear optimization functions and interfacing with IPOPT, and participated in a summer research project at the Indian Statistical Institute focused on object localization.
