Vikram Tankasali

Vikram Tankasali is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the fields of computer vision and machine learning. Currently serving as a Manager at Google since May 2023, Vikram's work focuses on computer vision technologies, vision transformers, large language models, visual positioning systems, 3D instance segmentation, and Google Maps automation. Prior to this, Vikram held the position of Director of Engineering at G42, and worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Facebook and Google DeepMind, where notable contributions included reinforcement learning and deep learning research. Earlier career highlights include positions as a Research Scientist at Saarland University, a Research Software Engineer at IBM Research Lab, and a Software Engineer at Microsoft, specializing in machine learning algorithms for advertising. Vikram's academic foundation includes a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from B. M. S.
