Vlad Balan has extensive experience in software engineering, beginning with an internship at Microsoft Research focused on software defined radio. Following this, Vlad worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Turn, where a globally-replicated key-value store supporting 2 million queries per second for ad bidding was designed. At Google, Vlad served as a Senior Software Engineer from July 2015 to November 2022, contributing to large-scale video data processing using machine learning, backend service design for YouTube subscriptions, and tracing support for datacenter networks. Currently, Vlad holds the position of Staff Software Engineer at Google, focusing on search box autocompletions.
