Weiren Yu

Weiren Yu is currently serving as a Product Manager for LLMInfra at Google, focusing on the production usage of large language models and foundational models across Alphabet. Prior experience includes roles at Cruise, where significant achievements such as a 20X KPI improvement in Autonomous Vehicle reliability and leading the Continuous Learning Machine initiative were accomplished. Weiren Yu also contributed to enhancing model development velocity through the integration of PyTorch. Previous positions at Petuum, Inc. involved leading the development of a scalable ML platform and managing a team to create a data engineering product tailored for business analysts. Weiren Yu began a career in academia as a visiting researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, developing a distributed ML training engine. Educational qualifications include a visiting researcher position at Carnegie Mellon University and a mindfulness meditation teacher certification from the University of California, Berkeley.
