Will Deacon

Will Deacon is an experienced software engineer and distinguished engineer, currently working at Google since September 2019, focusing on Linux kernel development for Android. Previously, Will served as a placement student at ARM from April 2008 to September 2008, where skills were developed in tools for heterogeneous multicore architectures. As a distinguished engineer at ARM, Will contributed to the upstream Linux kernel while collaborating closely with architectural and CPU design teams, and represented ARM in SG1 at WG21 meetings, playing a key role in the design and formalization of the Armv8-A memory model. Will holds a Master’s Degree in Computing, specializing in Software Engineering, from Imperial College London, earned between 2005 and 2009.
