Xianting Wang

Xianting Wang possesses a robust background in materials science, engineering, and computational biology, with significant experience in research and software engineering. At the University of Pittsburgh, from September 2013 to August 2016, Xianting Wang excelled as a Research Assistant, focusing on the structural reconstruction of the HIV virus and chemotaxis monolayer samples using advanced imaging techniques. Xianting Wang's earlier experience at Fudan University involved investigating the biomineralization of calcium carbonate and its interactions with silk-fibroin. Currently, as a Senior Software Engineer at Google since June 2018, Xianting Wang applies deep learning methods to enhance image feature mining of Cryo-Tomography data. Additionally, a brief tenure as a Summer Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University showcased the ability to utilize GANs for image feature characterization. Xianting Wang holds a master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and another master's degree in Computational Biology from Carnegie Mellon University, achieving high academic honors in both programs.
