Xiaoxiang Yu has a solid background in robotics and engineering, beginning with a Bachelor's degree in Automation from Dalian University of Technology, where a thesis on "Calibration of a 2D Laser Dynamic Pose on a Rescue Robot Platform" was completed. Subsequently, Xiaoxiang held various roles, including a Research Assistant at ABB Robotics, where a project on optical measurement systems was developed, and at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, contributing to mobile robotics and machine vision projects. As a Research Assistant at the Bio-Inspired Robotics Laboratory at ETH Zurich, supervision by Prof. Fumiya Iida facilitated exploration into legged robot locomotion and educational robotics. A significant tenure as a Senior Software Engineer at Google has been maintained since April 2014. Furthermore, a visiting stint at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the University of Zurich was completed, participating in the EU-funded "Locomorph" project, enhancing a diverse skill set in robotics and automation across several prestigious institutions.
